Teaching the next generation of coders

Here at Vision6, we hire the best of the best when it comes to coders. Which is why we were stoked to get behind the CoderDojo initiative right here in Brisbane, which is shaping the next generation of coders.

CoderDojo is a global volunteer-led community of free programming clubs for young people between the 7-17.

We’ve jumped onboard as the first industry sponsors which means we’re helping kids learn to code, develop websites, apps, program games and explore technology.

Yesterday we had the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Graham Quirk and Councillor Vicki Howard visit the office with the winners of the CoderDojo Blackbelt program.

A big congratulations to the Kate and Jess from Stuartholme who developed the winning app ‘Somewhere in Brisbane’.

Programs like CoderDojo help prepare young people for employment as participants learn skills vital to the ever-changing digital world.
