Social sharing is the new send to friend

If you’re not already using Social Sharing links in your emails, then you’re missing out!

Essentially they’re the new and improved version of the Send to Friend link you’re probably already including in your emails.

Both options aim to extend the reach of your email beyond existing subscribers. But where a Send to Friend might expose your email to a handful of people, Social Sharing has the potential to expose it to hundreds, if not thousands of people.

It’s pretty powerful stuff.

You don’t even need to be active on social media to benefit from Social Sharing links in your emails. This is because they let your subscribers who do use social media share your email with their followers.

How Social Sharing links work

When an email recipient clicks a Social Sharing link, they’re prompted to log into their social media profile and post a status update with a link to view your email. In turn, this status update is potentially seen by everyone who views this person’s social media profile.

How to socialise your emails

  1. Include Social Sharing links so subscribers can share your email on their social media pages.
  2. Include a subscribe link in your email so that anyone not on your list can easily subscribe.
  3. Be specific. “Do you like this email? Share it with your friends so they don’t miss out!”

In the Vision6 e-messaging system you can

Easily include Social Sharing links for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Still include a Send to Friend link for subscribers that don’t use social media and make all the Social Sharing links part of your email template.
