Is your database holding you back?

Towards the end of last year I spoke with a number of customers in the hope of better understanding how our e-messaging system was being used and where people might be experiencing difficulty.

It was a very insightful exercise and there was one thing that kept coming up time and again.

People’s databases were holding them back.

They knew they should be segmenting their databases and sending targeted email content to improve the relevancy (and results) from their email campaigns. But they can’t because their databases are a mess and they’re not sure what to do about it.

Now I must admit – I’ve worked with hundreds of databases over the years and I feel their pain.

Databases can be tricky to work with. It’s hard to get data in a consistent format and fixing up typos and other errors is very time consuming.

But that has all changed.

Since upgrading our e-messaging system with Spreadsheet View, formatting and cleaning your database is a breeze. Changes can be done in bulk and there is no need to export/import data to other programs like Excel.

To show you how to clean up your database for easy segmentation we decided to put together this short video.

This is just one of the many ways in which the Spreadsheet View feature can save you time and make your life easier as an email marketer.
