 Forum on future »

Forum's framework
for new ideas

The Reframing the Future organisation is facilitating an interactive, national two day forum encouraging fresh thinking about “innovation, agility and responsiveness” in the vocational education and training system.

To be held in Melbourne on 17-18 November, the forum will provide an opportunity for the participants to network, share contemporary approaches to vocational education and training and promote good practice in implementing the national training system.

Reframing the Future is a major workforce development initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments. It assists in building the capacity of the Australian VET system to support the implementation of the national training system and the aims of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) and its national reform agenda.

New training program
Boosts RPL Skills

A new skills development program for staff of registered training organisations (RTOs), will help them to conduct more effective recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessments.

The one-day program is planned to support the initial series of Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET)-Skills First RPL sessions held in 2007 and the first half of 2008.

It is designed around two of the main considerations of the RPL project: improving the capabilities of private RTOs to provide fast and effective RPL; and development of diverse operating models to suit a wide range of industry clientele.

Dates and locations:

  • Brisbane, 25 November
  • Toowoomba, 13 November
  • Sunshine Coast, 18 November
  • Mt Isa, 5 December

The cost for the one-day program is $22 per session ($44 per day). To register contact Stephanie Richardson at stephanie.richardson@acpet.edu.au or phone 07 3210 1628.
