JACQUES AND THE BURJ KHALIFA

Did you see the spectacular opening of the Burj Khalifa during the holiday period? The tallest building in the world and previously known as the Burj Dubai. It stands at over 800 metres.

The Jacques 650 Series Integrated Communications System was selected for the following systems as it includes special features such as, hign reliability and comprehensive built in diagnostics.

·         Security Access Communications

·         IP Lift Intercoms

·         IP Firestair Intercoms

·         IP Balcony Communications

Jacques IP Intercoms were installed in the 57 elevators located in this building. As these elevators have the world's longest travel distance from lowest to highest stop, Jacques Cable Extender Modules were employed. This module enables the cable distance between an Ethernet device (slave station) and a network switch to be extended by up to 2kms. The innovative module uses a single twisted pair cable making it suitable for building lift applications allowing most TCP/IP based equipment including intercom stations to be installed.

The Burj Khalifa fire stair intercom solution was also manufactured and supplied by Jacques. This building has 2,909 stairs from the ground floor to the 160th floor and during emergency or evacuation, authorities will have contact with people in the fire stairs.

Jacques Slave Intercom Stations have been installed on apartment balconies. These weather and vandal resistant devices are perfectly designed for the harsh Middle East climate and will give residents access to communication whilst outdoors on their balconies.

IP VIDEO INTERCOM TOUCH SENSITIVE BUTTONS

Design of the Jacques IP Video Intercom, based on market research, is well accepted by the market.

The stylish design of the Entrance Station has been enabled by innovative technology including capacitive sensing buttons in the keypad. These buttons replace the need for mechanical buttons and in turn provide a very durable, weather resistant and a tasteful solution for the keypad.

As there are no moving parts in the capacitive buttons, the reliability is significantly increased. Vandal and water resistance of the device is further increased as the front panel of the intercom station, including the buttons, is one smooth surface. The Entrance Station keypad technology also provides an elegant backlit design, ensuring that the buttons are always visible.

Capacitive technology is currently being used in many other very well known products including your laptop trackpad, computer monitors, iPod click wheels and mobile phones to name a few.
