Safe Work Australia Week (SWAW), 25 - 31 October 2009, is a national week which focuses attention on workplace safety issues. It aims to encourage all working Australians to get involved in, and concentrate on, safety in their workplace to reduce deaths, injuries and diseases.

Safe Work Australia (SWA) is currently developing national model occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation to be implemented in all Australian jurisdictions in 2011.
A draft of the model legislation is now available for public comment. This is an opportunity to actively participate and voice your opinion on the development of new model OHS legislation.

The campaign, involving concrete pump owners and operators across the state has been developed in response to an increase in the quantity of concrete pumps and an increase in incidents, injuries and fatalities.

The code serves as a foundation to establish credible, ethical and consistently professional behaviours expected of labour inspectorate employees worldwide.
