Mayor Pam ParkerA friendly message from the Logan City Mayor Pam Parker

It is time for Logan to celebrate! Birthdays are always a great time to unwind and have some fun. I am inviting you all to do just that at the upcoming 30th birthday celebrations for our city.

Logan City will blow out the candles to 30 years in grand style on 3 October at the Logan Metro Indoor Sports Centre in Crestmead.

The event will hold special significance for all in the community because not only will it celebrate our milestone of being officially declared a city in 1978, but it will also be the city's commemoration of our first anniversary since local government reform.

And if that isn't enough reason to celebrate, the event will also serve as the community's day to join in the official party to open the $17 million Logan Metro Indoor Sports Centre.

The free birthday fun, which will run from 10am to 2pm, will also include a host of fun games and activities for the young and young at heart, while there will also be plenty of live entertainment and competitions throughout the day.

So I invite you all to come along, join in the fun and help us celebrate just how far we have come in 30 years, and share in the excitement of where we are headed with the opening of Logan Metro Indoor Sports Centre.

I can't wait to see you all there.

Pam Parker
Your Mayor of Logan City
