WORKSHOP CONTENT: In 2008, children in grade 2 at Windaroo State School embarked on an exciting project entitled Bucket Heads. Each child was encouraged to create a three dimensional image using a bucket as their starting point. As a result, images were as diverse as animals to aliens, monsters to pirates. The fun and creative bucket heads were made using papier-machê and acrylic paints. Young visitors will be invited to create comical and crazy characters in pot plants and papier-machê.

WORKSHOP CONTENT: Contemporary artist Angela Rossitto has created an engaging sculptural installation incorporating found objects, vibrant colours and fabrics, challenging the interconnections between love, the human condition and commodities. Angela is interested in the methodical process and transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Employing craft techniques to manipulate fabrics and found objects she capitalises on the seductive nature of the tactile. She is interested in dualities such as attraction and repulsion and the tension they create. Visitors will be encouraged to engage in a number of traditional constructed textile techniques such as weaving, knitting and wrapping, in order to create a contemporary art form.

9. Atomic: Mark Making for Preschoolers

WORKSHOP CONTENT: The exhibition Atomic is a study of how nature's patterns flow through the built environment. Through the use of photography, Matthew Dabrowski's artworks are an exploration of incidentally made art. Children will be encouraged to experiment with mark making using a variety of printmaking tools, such as rollers, stamps and stipple brushes.
