Welcome to the first edition of your Logan City e-newsletter. Each month we will provide you with exciting news and sneak previews at what's happening in and around our great city. We welcome your feedback and hope you enjoy reading this e-newsletter.

Logan cares - Bushfire benefit concert

Support the survivors of Victoria's bushfire disaster on Saturday 21 February at the Logan cares - Bushfire benefit concert. Held at the Logan Entertainment Centre, the concert will feature Dean Vegas, Angels of Fire, Cantabile Choir, Deux Femmes and even more local artists.

The concert begins at 6.30 pm, and food and refreshments are available from 5.30 pm. All tickets are $20, with proceeds going to the survivors. Buy tickets online now or phone 3412 5626.

Logan City has launched its new city image campaign to help strengthen Logan's image featuring the likes of Steven Bradbury and Darren Hayes, just some of our home grown famous faces.

Moonlight Movies on in Logan

Souths Logan Magpies hosting Canberra Raiders vs Bulldogs NRL pre-season match

Souths Logan MagpiesWitness the first NRL trial match to be played at Meakin Park, Slacks Creek on Saturday 28 February. Gates open at 2 pm with the main game at 8 pm.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for students/pensioners, and children under 12 are free. Bookings through Ticketek or by phoning 3844 7344.

The Magic FluteTickets are now on sale for The Magic Flute showing at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Sunday 8 March at 2.30 pm. The matinee ticket prices are $35.00 for adults, and $30.00 for concession holders. Buy tickets online now or call the Box Office on 3412 5626.

Festivals and events grants now available to Logan community organisations

Council provides financial assistance for free, vibrant and sustainable community events that are innovative, have positive outcomes and meet the needs of Logan City residents.

There are two rounds each year, and the current round of applications close 18 March 2009. Events must commence after 1 June 2009. Visit Council's web site or contact Council on 3412 4639.

Free trees
All Logan City ratepayers have access to three free trees each financial year. Follow the link for collection dates and locations near you.

Computer training at Logan’s libraries
Training in using a computer, using the Internet and email is offered for free. Bookings are essential.

Logan Art Gallery workshops
School, community or social groups are invited to come along and enjoy free floor talks and practical workshops.
